16-inch Softball Inducts New Class into Chicago’s Hall of Fame

In a recent Axios report, “more than 300 people gathered Tuesday evening to celebrate the newest inductees into the Chicago 16-inch Softball Hall of Fame.”

History: In 1887, a group of purists started playing the 16-inch game without gloves! With that said, the game is known to use a ball that’s softer and larger. 😉

Coming in Hot: If you’re wondering what’s next for 16-inch softball, it looks like you won’t have to wait much longer to find out because the sport is about to have its premier tournament!

That’s right – the annual “No Glove Nationals 16-inch Softball Tournament” is taking place this weekend in Forest Park. Head over to the tournament’s Facebook page to keep up with the action!
